The Department started its autonomous M.Tech program in Aerospace Engineering from 2019 with an Intake of 18 Students under the affiliation to Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and AICTE, New Delhi.

curriculum

The curriculum is updated by the expert committee to keep it relevant to the industry and R&D organization updates. The Curriculum is validated as per the external competition of aerospace engineering and expert students for doctoral studies.

Laboratories

Well-equipped laboratories are helping students to mobilize about the basic and advance concepts of aerospace engineering.

Internships & Placements

The PG students have to undergo a three month internship in any national reputation R&D or Industry Units involved on the advancement of Aerospace Engineering and conduct a one year thesis work either in-houseor at any external source.The Department of Aeronautical Engineering regularly focuses on the Internship/ Minor Project/ Self-study for its enrolled students..

The guidelines for all Master students are

  • A self-contained post-graduate programe in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Open to graduates in Aerospace Engg. as well as related disciplines as mentioned in the admission website
  • Admission through GATE /PGCETfor regular candidates, test/interview for sponsored/QIP candidates.
  • Imparts training which is necessary for a career involving design, analysis, construction, testing and operation of airplanes, helicopters, rockets and spacecraf
  • Ample flexibility in terms of professional electives.
  • An individual engineering project in the second year.
  • Possibility of conversion to Ph.D. subject with good performance.
  • Fellowship for regular GATE candidates.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Candidates must have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST, the minimum aggregate marks will be not less than 45%.
  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree Engineering or Technology in Aeronautical Engineering/ Aerospace Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Industrial Engineering & Management/Industrial Production/ Automobile Engineering or ; AMIE in appropriate branch. GATE: ME, AE, CE, PI. & PGCET conducted by Govt.
