Single Point Actuated Separation Mechanism has been developed indigenously for In-orbit Separation mechanism in order to facilitate inter satellite communication between the two separated satellites 2A and 2B.
Increase in space debris pose problems to other satellites in the orbit. To mitigate this problem, satellite disposal protocols are designed. These are to be followed for all future Low Earth orbit satellites. To meet this protocol, STUDSAT-2 is equipped with a Drag Sail Mechanism for quick deorbiting after the completion of mission. Further once the Satellite re-enters the earth's atmosphere it burns out due to high temperatures caused by friction.
