Department Highlights

  • Highly qualified and competent faculty members with 8 Ph.D. primarily from IISc, NITs, and VTU.
  • 13 faculty members are involved in research and are pursuing their Doctorate (PhD).
  • Practicing Outcome Based Curriculum and Outcome Based Learning & Teaching.
  • Visvesvaraya Technical University (VTU) granted the department with a Research Centre status in the year 2011-2012.
  • B.E - Information Science & Engineering Programme has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under the Tier-1 scheme (Equivalent to Washington Accord) from 2014 to 2017.
  • Permanent affiliation has been granted for the B.E. Programme by VTU till the academic year 2022-23.
  • The department has several research projects funded by Department of Information and Technology (DIT), New Delhi, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), Visvesvaraya Technological University, UNESCO-KSCST and others.
  • Department believes in Open Source Software and uses Linux platform & Open Source tools.
  • The department has exclusive research laboratories namely, Advanced Computing Research Lab and Centre for Smart Things(IOT) for the benefit of faculty, post-graduate and under-graduate students
  • Established a Iignis Innovations Lab- a Campus Company to enable the students to work on real-world problems with a motive of “Collaborate, Learn & Work”.
  • The laboratories are open 24x7 to facilitate maximum utilization of the resources for research and projects.
  • Internship program for UG & PG Students in reputed Industries/R&D Organizations/IISc/IITs/NITs. About 85% of the students undergo internship programs each year starting from AY 2010-11.
  • Extensive interaction with industry resulting in close to 90% Placement with highest CTC offered for ISE students-Rs 18 Lakhs.
  • Good amount of students recognized with awards/recognition at National Competitions such as
